Small bites to small for 12wk large breed puppy

My puppy was on this food when we adopted her, and the small bites ended up being too small for her at 12 weeks (she weighed about 11lbs). She just ended up basically inhaling the food instead of chewing and eating it, which made her belly upset a lot of the time. There is a regular version that isn't small bites, but we just switched to another food and she seems to be doing better. It's hard to saw whether that is because of the food's formula or kibble size though. I can definitely see the small bites being great for much young puppies or small/toy breeds though, but for my pup that is a 12 week old large breed puppy, it wasn't really a good fit.

bad delivery

the product was lil overpriced but for the puppies i was fostering. however, all the treats and food took so long getting here that the pups already were sent to another facility to be adopted. so i just donated back to organization. i had to go to the store to buy more food... ridiculous it took 8 days to deliver... looking into just shopping at my vets online store. same prices really and they deliver next day. so... we pare probably parting ways. good luck chewy

Great products but puppy doesn't like it, lol. She likes the science diet her sisters have. I definitely recommend this food for younger pups than my dog is. She's a rescue so she might like other food better. All our dogs and cats are on Science Diet foods. Would never change the brand.

We have a puppy and and older GSD. It was hard to keep them away from each other's food so I checked with the vet and then started just mixing the foods and feeding both of them a little of the other food (both are Hills products}. They now eat from their own dishes and are thriving!!

So Far So Good

I had my seven month old teddy bear puppy on Blue Buffalo and he started throwing up and refused to eat it. He had this food this morning and he was so happy. He finished every last drop, and he looked like he wanted more. I am hopeful that this will do the job and we will no longer have to switch foods.

The best for my pups

Unexpectedly had the need to rescue a pup from a backyard breeder after she decided not to use him for breeding. He looked & smelled so bad in the picture she sent me of him in his cage. I knew he was going to need the best diet and Hill's Science Diet has been recommended to me by my vets for 25 plus years.

Good choice for my puppy!

I used Hills Science Diet for my last KC Cavalier Spaniel who was diabetic. I trust this brand. The Puppy Small Bites is great for my new Cavalier puppy. I gradually converted her over to it at 9 wks old. Had no problems digesting it. The size of the kibbles are perfect for small breeds. She likes it and gets excited when it's meal time. I even use the little kibbles as treats when training her. When she's older, I'll definitely keep her on Hills Science Diet.
