Where Can I Take Pictures With a Black Santa
Last year I did a post on where to find Santa in Atlanta. A reader asked where to find an African American Santa in Atlanta. Since we didn't know, we turned to our community on Facebook and they did not disappoint.
The community suggested several places to visit with a black Santa Claus in Atlanta. Starting mid November, you can visit with the Jolly Man in Red at the following locations. If you know other places, please tell us. If you have some insight or tips for these locations, let us know.
South DeKalb Mall | 404-241-2431
DATES: Dec. 1- Dec. 24, 2021
According to reader Michael Wilcox, this is the real deal!
They're asking for guests to make reservations online this year. The Santa Pics at South DeKalb Mall will be contactless and socially distant, with digital files only. You can sign up for a reservation HERE.
Greenbriar Mall| 404-344-6611
DATES: November 20 – December 24, 2021
Throughout the Holiday Season, families will have the opportunity to capture keepsake portraits that will last a lifetime with Greenbriar Mall's own naturally bearded African-American Santa.
Parents can purchase professional photos in a wide range of packages. You can click HERE to make advanced reservations. Note: They are not accepting reservations for December 22-24 — those dates will be walk-in only.
Stonecrest Mall | 678-526-8955
DATES: December 3-24, 2021
Last year this mall had both a Caucasian and African American Santa. The Caucasian Santa arrived at 10 am and the Black Santa took over at 5 pm. At press time they could not confirm this was happening again this year, so make sure to call before you go.
West End Mall| 404-755-1001
Note: No information has yet been released about 2021 plans.
In 2019, the West End Mall welcomed Kente Santa. We haven't gotten any new information for 2021, but we'll update when we hear more.
The Real Black Santa
Santa Dee, also known as the Real Black Santa, is one of the most well-known African American Santas in Atlanta. You can see him at a variety of private and public events throughout the holidays.
This year, he has partnered with Zuhoo to bring you and your children virtual visits! Celebrate the season safely by registering for your virtual visit.
Visit therealblacksanta.com for more events throughout the holiday season.

Sue came to Atlanta after finishing the Walt Disney World College Program where she was a tour guide then guest relations hostess (and no she did not moonlight as Snow White). Sue spent 25 years in PR before adding freelance travel writing to her resume. Prior to 365 Atlanta Traveler, Sue published an award winning family travel blog called Field Trips with Sue for eight years, and produced a TV segment with the same name on CBS Better Mornings Atlanta. Her favorite place to visit is anywhere with her husband and three sons. Sue believes anytime is a good time for dessert and there are no bad field trips, just better stories.
